download mayhem

heya everyone...i'm having issues with my firefox and i was wondering whether anyone could help me out...there appears to be some kind of problem with firefox's built-in download manager...whenever i try downloading a file, it stops in between and closes...for example if i'm downloading an 8mb file, by the time it reaches upto 3 mb, the download box disappears...but firefox remains open...if i try downloading again, the same thing happens...

so, i decided to try something new and installed the DownThemAll plugin for firefox...it's another file manager...but that gives me the same problem...any help would be greatly appreciated...

Re: download mayhem

What happens when you try to resume an incomplete download with DownThemAll?

Is the incomplete file missing from the save folder or is it stuck at a certain percentage point?

Are you downloading files to a folder or the desktop?

Re: download mayhem

i'm using firefox version 2.0.0.5
when i use DownThemAll, i save files to a folder and when i use firefox's built-in downloader, i use the desktop...
when i try to resume a failed download...the progress bar will proceed rapidly to the point till which it had previously downloaded but will again say download failed at the same point...
but when the download fails with firefox's built-in downloader, they show the file as completed but the installation wont complete...
