FireFox constantly freezing.
Alright. This happened a long time ago, and I fixed it somehow. However, now it is happening again, and I cannot remember how I fixed it for the life of me. When a pop-up comes up, it freezes FireFox. The built in Pop-up blocker is on, but that's not the problem. I don't care for pop-ups, it's always fun to constantly click that X button every time one appears. But now, it will always freeze once I close out of it. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Goomba. |

Re: FireFox constantly freezing.
Did you try to reinstall Mozilla Firefox yet?
That might be an easy solution to your problem. If that doesn't work you might try to get a new user account for mozilla firefox which resets all of the settings back to default. 1. Close Firefox completely (select File > Exit from the main menu of Firefox). 2. Select Start > Run... from the Windows Start menu (use the search box on Vista). 3. Enter firefox.exe -ProfileManager and press ok 4. Click Create Profile (Follow steps and once finished...) 5. Delete the default profile you have there, and start to use the other one (newly made) one. Hope this helps! Thanks, TechHelp24

Re: FireFox constantly freezing.
If you have tried Firefox SafeMode and on a new profile and it wasn't fixed, then you have a corrupt installation or a corrupt OS.
Uninstall Fx through Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and delete it's installation folder in C:\Program Files\ called Mozilla Firefox). Then install a freshly downloaded Firefox again. Your old settings are stored elsewhere on the system and they won't be touched - Fx will pick them up again automatically. Try with that and see how it goes. |
