Drag an drop bookmarks not working

Hello everyone,
I'd like to start by saying thank you for help ive gotten in the past, and now: I like to drag my favorite bookmarks to my desktop, for quick access but lately when i drag them to the desktop they don't aquire the bookmark icon, only the generic windows unrecognized file icon, and worse they don't work. They work fine within mozilla, just not on the desktop. not a serious problem but any help is appreciated.

when you click on the drag&dropped bookmark and goto properties does it have a web document tab?
you can also manually create the shortcut. just copy the URL from bookmark and then right click on the desktop and goto new>shortcut. then paste the URL into the shortcut path.

no it doesnt have a web document tab.

sorry but yes it does ave a web document tab, I was at work and replied from memory.

Type in the URL address of the website that you would like to visit in the URL: space, Apply>OK and then see if it works when you double-click.
