Hi everyone,
I noticed the other day that the blinking text cursor, the one that looks like an "l" is all over FF browser. Meaning, I can click anywhere on a web page, etc., and that blinking text cursor is there... as if I can write text anywhere on the browser. Sometimes the size changes depending on where I put my cursor and click. Is this a FF bug or some sort of exploit? It's incredibly annoying.I recently got rid of Norton Internet Security (bought it only a few months ago) because it wouldn't catch anything and allowed EIGHT trojans on my system. I found out after odd things happening on my machine, slowness, the usual suspect symptoms, and I downloaded a trial of Kaspersky and ran it.. and it caught 16 problems: 8 trojans and 8 'high' risk spyware. I ran another scan today, but it turned up nothing, said all was clean. Kaspersky is up to date, so I'm assuming everything with that is okay. However, browser is slow in many cases, and weird glitches have been happening with FF recently, including (but not limited to) the following: Slow browsing. Images often failing to load. FF using far more memory than usual (47,224 or higher. Has been as high as over 60,000) I'm at a bit of a loss here and hope you guys can help. ![]() Thanks, Ella |

Re: Firefox glitch/bug or exploit?
Hi Ella,
What version of Firefox are you using? The cursor problem sounds vaguelly familiar and I think it concerned an early 2.0 version. First thing would be to update to the newest version 2.0.0.4. Next would be to clear out your cache and cookies. Tools>Options>Privacy tab. You might also try running in Firefox Safe Mode to see if any add-ons could be effecting it. Post back with the results of those and if you still have problems we'll go from there. T.
