Trouble saving images/vids/webpages ...

I'm running Windows XP MCE and my browser Firefox 2.0. I'm suddenly unable to download images, videos, web pages or audio files. I right click or go to File, I hit "Save as ..." and choose a location for saving the file. But when I go to open the file, it's not there. No shortcut, no file no nothing. The only trace of it is if I go to Start>My Recent Downloads. I can see the name of the file there, but when I click on it I get the message:

Quote:
The item ... that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly.

Do you want to delete this shortcut?
I am able, however, to save things when I'm using IE.

Please help me.

Hi

Either the files are not downloaded, corrupt, corrupt downloads or being downloaded into a wrong location from where they are deleted.

Go to Tools>Options>Mainand verify or change the "Save files to" to "Desktop".

Then try downloading any random file, like this emoticon picture:

Then try opening it. See if it opens.

I too have just started having this problem. I don't know how to fix it. I've tried everything I know how to do. Again, it doesn't do it in IE but it does in firefox. Could someone help?

Yup, same problem here. I'm also having trouble using stuff like yahoo email, it doesn't register my clicks for quite a few websites. I can't figure out what is causing it...

Re: Trouble saving images/vids/webpages ...

Same problem here too. I have read all the forums I can find and even went to the extreme of uninstalling firefox and reinstalling it .. I erased the firefox folder even and reinstalled. No help .. still can not download pictures from the web.

I also read a forum that all I have to do is delete the downloads.rdf file and the problem will be solved. Problem is I can not find any such file on my computer. So .. I have started to use explorer again because that does not have the problem.

Any ideas?

Tom

One more thing .. I did find the file downloads.rdf and deleted it .. that did nothing at all. No difference.
