Help Please (Firefox 2.0 and Media)

I'll try my best to explain this.

Before I got rid of my older computer and go a new one. I was using Firefox, (which someone else installed for me). Anyways I was able to view WindowsMedia movies in Firefox browser. Then I got a new computer and installed Firefox 1.5 and I was unable to play WindowsMedia files in the Firefox browser, now that I got 2.0 I still have to problem. I did some searching around the net and then said to install a plugin, but the thing is that plugin is not for Firefox 1.5 and up.. so for the time being I am using MediaPlayerConnectivity which on most sites I am able to use, but not a few that I enjoy going to.

Can you please tell me what plug in to use. I tried searching a Microsoft's Download Center, as well as WindowsMedia Player official site, and Mozilla's addons center.

Can you please help me.

Thanks

Edit: Didn't see that Firefox Forum.. please move it there

There are a number of suggestions here on how to get Media Player working and specifically, a section on the missing plugin message. See if it helps:
