Connection Timeout

When i am on firefox my pages are coming up Problem Loading CONNECTION TIMEOUT.

I am only using the XP firewall and the same thing happens if it is enabled or disabled.

I have formated my machine and reinstalled my router. Still no luck.

Can anyone offer any advice, it is all welcome.

If you have formatted and reinstalled, then it wouldn't seem to be anything to do with the computer but just a few thoughts:

Did you back up your Firefox Profile before formatting and then use that when reinstalling ...or did you reinstall themes and extensions afresh from the Mozilla Add-ons site?
Do you get the problem when using Internet Explorer?
Do you have a separate modem and router? Just wondering if you'd still get the problem with the router by-passed.

No i just used a brand new profile after the format and i don't use any plug ins.

It just says the page cant be displayed with explorer.

I do have a separate modem mate but its not the router because i never had this problem before.

I went to about:config on the firefox address bar and extended the timeout time - No joy.

I have been trying to fix this for the last 5 days and its starting to get me down. I have no idea where it came from.

I am sure it is some sort of browser setting but i don't have a clue what it is.

Sorry if I'm getting things wrong here, so just to confirm. You are getting no web page display in both Firefox and Internet Explorer?

Edit: Does POP email work?
