Wasn't able to backup, now what?
My computer went wacko and I had to completely reformat it. Before that though "the computer guy" was able to backup my hard drive on another hard drive and now I'm transferring the files back. I reinstalled FF using the FF2.0 setup thing and it's all fresh with no bookmarks, extensions or anything. I wasn't able to backup my FF profile before this happened and was wondering how, if I can, get back my extensions, passwords and bookmarks. They must be stored somewhere right? or wrong? Hoping someone could help me out. Those were a lot of bookmarks and extensions...
Thank you in advance :) |

If he did a full backup of your old drive, you should be able to find your Profile containing bookmarks, extensions, etc in
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile name> It's a hidden folder so to make it visible open Windows Explorer, go to Tools > Folder Options > View tab > 'Show hidden files and folders', then copy the Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile name> folder onto your new hard drive and put it in C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\ Make sure Firefox and Thunderbird aren't already running, then go to Start > Run > type firefox.exe -profilemanager and select the Profile you've just imported, make it the default and you should see all your settings back to normal.
