Strange Bookmark
So I was surfing the net like I normally do, at the time I was actually playing a game via www.addictinggames.com and I went to check a friend's blog (via a bookmark in my bookmarks toolbar) and I noticed that there was an extra bookmark in the toolbar titled "Click Here" (it took me to <http://www.thegeneral.com/?WT.mc_id=360i_lead_gen>). I know for a fact that I never bookmarked this and I also always lock my computer when I'm away. I realize it was a bad idea to click it, I just didn't think of it at the time, but anyways I was just curious, how the heck that that happened? To me, this is just plain wrong and bad and I am a bit outraged I guess, cause this is a pretty big deal I feel like, I mean pop ups are bad enough (though firefox blocks them quite effectively), but pop up bookmarks.
I guess I'm just looking for a few thoughts on this, and maybe how I can prevent it from happening. Also, has anyone else ever had this or heard of it? Thanks Jeff |
