HTML file extension associations
I tried to change the file extension associations on Windows XP for HTML files to open with Firefox and it doesn't quite work.
Firefox does start but the file does not open and just the path is shown in the Firefox address box. In the Editing action for type:HTML documents I set the "Application used to preform Action" box to "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" %1 What are the rest of the settings? |

This is how it looks on my computer:-
----------------------------------- Action: Open Application used to perform this action: C:\PROGRA~1\MOZILL~3\FIREFOX.EXE -url "%1" Use DDE box is ticked. DDE Message: (blank) DDE Action Not Running (blank) Application: FIREFOX Topic: System --------------------------------------- Apart from that, would it be possible to set the default for HTML files using the 'Set Program Actions and Defaults' settings? (shortcut in the Start Menu, or go to Add/Remove Programs for the option). There is also a small utility called 'SetBrowser I've use with success. it can be downloaded here: SetBrowser for Windows |
