Is the new Tiger OS X compatible with Intel PCs?

does any of you know for sure if the newest release of Tiger is compatible with Intel PCs? because the guy at the computer shop in my school said it is and i was about to get it but i thought better check for sure before getting one.. thanks in advance!!

no, no, no. os x tiger will _ONLY_ run on apple branded harware. some hackers have gotten the developer version of os x to work on some intel based harware, but this is a hack, and illegal. so the store guy was _VERY_ wrong. sorry.

That is not true. Apple is making their new models with Intel. Infact there is compatibillity software called Rosetta that developers are using to convert their software from PowerPC to the standards of Intel.

no, no. i am correct. os x will only run on apple hardware. let me put it another way, it will not run on just any intel pc, only apple pcs with intel chips. also, if you goto apple's site, it doesn't even list the intel macs under the system requirements for os x, which means that apple is not even selling their version of os x for macs with intel chips yet. it only comes with a new intel mac, and then it'll be a restore cd, not an install cd.
then as far as rosetta, it is not used by developers, it is part of the intel mac build of os x, and it is a translator. it translates the ppc app instructions to intel instructions as you are using the app.
