Exclamation help unwanted images showing up as thumbnails

Can someone help me? My son downloaded some pictures that are rather undesirable and they are showing up as the thumbnails for "ai" and "jpg" documents (Illustrator 10.0 and Photoshop 7 documents) that I have burned onto a CD for work. I can't seem to get rid of them. Needless to say, I am very angry with my son. The actual documents are fine, it is just the little thumbnails that show as file icons are undesirable, and only the ones I burn onto a disk, not the documents on the desktop. Very peculiar and very annoying. Does anyone know where the images might be stored? How can I restore the default thumbnail image? I am running a Mac G4 with Mac OS X.

well, i would go here and follow the instructions on deleting the 3 files listed and their backups. sounds like this will bring the icons back as they should. just make sure that all the undesiable files are off the computer before doing this. i would even sujest getting rid of the cds with the bad icons, and makeing new ones. if this doesn't help, then i'm at a loss. i have never heard of this before.
if you don't have it, tinkertool can be found here.
