i have a macintosh 512k machine i would like to test and sell but have no programming. i have no experience with apple stuff at all. i know enough to run windows and have tinkered with very simple dos commands when needed.

on start-up all i have is a floppy icon with a question mark in it. is it waiting for input, lol? i assume i would have to load an op sys every time or add an external drive? all i want to do is test an sell it.

well, it is waiting for you to insert a floppy w/a system on it. this has no internal hd. if it is an 512k and not 512ke, then the drive can only take 400k floppies, which means that unless you have another mac with a floopy drive, there is no more testing you can do. but if it bongs on start, and is flashing the folder icon, then it has passed its own self hardware diag. if you need any more info, let me know. i may even be able to make you a floppy to boot w/if you really want.
