I have a major problem. Whenever I turn on my Imac G3 when it is loading, a pop up comes up and says "sorry a system error has occored. file system map inconsistent. To temporarily turn off extensions, restart and hold down the shift key. Whenever I restart and I hold down the shift key, the same thing pops up. Please help me

i hope that you have the cd that came w/the mac, or at least an os 9 install cd. boot from the cd and run disk First Aid on your boot drive. if that doesn't work, you will need a bigger, better, stronger disk utility app, or to reformat and install os 9 on your hd.
