Internet problems

I bought a Belkin modem with a built in router and whenever the mac goes on stand by or shuts down the internet stops working and to get it work i have to unplug the router and shut down the mac though this dosent happen when I log off.

I scanned for virus's and spyware and the system is clean xbox live and the windows pc is fine on the net though

can anybody help ??????

EDIT - Its alright now I sussed it just had to shut it down.
