I am having a very bizarre broblem with my Mac. It is a Mac Mini w/1gb of memory.
I upgraded to Tiger, which was fine, and used Safari as my browser. Web response started getting slower and slower. I thought it was the wireless, so moved my computer and plugged it in directly to the ethernet port. No improvement. I then downloaded Firefox and tried it. It worked great. Fast response, no problems -- at first. The next morning, it was as slow as Safari. I tried IE, also slow. The whole thing seems to be dragging to a halt -- getting slower and slower. It takes at least 30 seconds to load a simple page. The delay is at the start, after you enter or click a url but before it starts to display the page. This is true of all the browsers. Once the page starts rendering it comes right up. It will then be slow for the next page, etc. There is another computer (not macintosh) connected to the same router and it has not had any performance problems whatsoever. Any suggestions? |
