what apple laptop do you have, and does it have an airport card in it? there is no sw needed for a router. just open safari, enter the ip address for the router listed in the owners manual and configure it there. make sure the router has been on for a min or 2, and that the laptop is set to use the airport card for internet before launching safari.

hope you mean g4, not p4. sw is short for software. and if you can't type in the web address of the router into your web broswer to log into the router to configuer it, it means that the router is set up allready to block wifi traffic. does the router have an lan enet port on it? (not to be mixed up with the wan port) if so, plug a enet cable into your mac, and then into the router, tell the mac to use enet instead of airport, and try typing in the router's web address again. if that doesn't work, let us know, and i'll see if i can do some digging.
