Flashing Question Mark
Can anyone be of help? I'm trying to boot my iMAC Flatpanel G4 and it will not boot. I receive a folder with a flashing question mark. The last thing I remember I tried doing was to boot my system on mac os 9. After that it would not boot at all. Please help me out.

Try zapping the PRAM. When you start the computer, hold command-option-p-r until you have heard the startup chime three or four times, then release the keys.
If that doesn't work, boot the computer from the Mac OS X install disk and use Disk Utility to repair the disk and permissions. |

which g4 imac do you have? some of the later ones had os 9 for classic, but can not boot into os 9. try holding the 'x' key when it boots. this tells the mac to boot from the first os x system it finds. if you are really sure that it can boot into os 9, then hold down the 'option' key when turning it on. that tells it to boot from the first os 9 system it finds. if nither of these work, you'll have to use the cd's that came with the imac to boot from and repair the system installs.
