G4 Silver / Tiger update
A few years ago the superdrive in my G4 Silver had to be replaced. I saved a few hundred dollars by replacing it with a pioneer drive from a source other than Apple. The drive reads and writes however, it will not boot form the "Tiger" update disc or "Disk Warrior" either. The activity light on the drive flickers for a while while the monitor remains blue.
I'm stumped. Last edited by 68vette; 11-18-2005 at 01:13 PM. |

where did you get the drive? owc has apple ones for $45. as far as booting, even holding down the c key doesn't help? if that doesn't, then chances are it doesnot support booting becaue its not an apple branded drive. only other thing i can sujest is googleing for some kind of firmware patch that will allow booting.
