Imovie won't recognise HD

G'day. I just purchased a Powerbook, installed imovie HD (it only had regular imovie) and tried to import in hd format from my camera. It only reads dv, the hd option is disabled. I copied imovie hd from my mac mini (where it works fine in hd). Anyone know why the hd option is disabled on my 'book?

it could be that the powerbook doesn't support hd. i have imoviehd installed on my g4/466, but the hd stuff doesn't work because it is not supported for this slow a cpu. what are the stats of the mini and powerbook?

The mini has 512 MB DDR SDRAM, 1.25GHz, 512K level 2 cache,
The 'book has 512 MB PC133 SDRAM, 1GHz, 1MB level 3 cache,
I'm sorry, I'm not very computer savvy and wouldn't have a clue what the difference between DDR and PC133 is.

Thanks, but I've worked it out. Imovie HD comes with the iLife package which I now have to repurchase for my 'book. It was packaged with my Mac Mini.
Thanks anywho,

well, if that was it, good luck to you.

btw, the difference between the ram is the speed. the pc133 is older type of ram and runs at 133mhz. the ddr is newer and better and runs at several different speeds. the kind in your mini is pc2700 and runs at 333mhz. there is some now that run at over 500mhz, pc4400 i think its called.
