cant reset password

ok heres the problem. i had accidentally deleted the admin group that had access rights to all of the system config type things. my user profile was tied to that group. i dont know the administrator password. now when i try to edit anything it doesnt work. i tried booting to the install disk to run the password reset app. but its like the boot order is locked. when i hold down the option key during boot, it asks for a password which i dont know as well. if i could reset that password i could boot from the disk and reset the passwords.... any ideas?
