want to put windows on my mac- dual boot
can I take a external usb hard drive and put windows on it to load onto my mac? dont want to put it on same hard drive as mac osx.

Good question, I don't know. Plug the drive in and start Bootcamp. If it sees the drives, then it should work, if it doesn't see it, then most likely not.
