Mac Book X I cannot conect the internet

Hello

My Macbook is X 10.5.5

I did turn off the modem. I tried several different connections. But I still cannot connect to the internet. There are three other computers at home and they are all fine.

Please advise what i should try next....

How are you trying to connect? Is there a router? Have you tried plugging the Mac right into the modem? Have you made sure that the Mac is getting an IP address that matches your network?
