bootcamp/xp

hey folks....HELP. just partitioned one of my mac hard drives for windows xp. put the cd in and clicked install. when it rebooted it got stuck on a screen which says..."Couldnt open the boot partition to check for a signature. Setup is inspecting your computers hardware configuration..." its been like that a while now. any help much appreciated. thanks, Donal.

leopard. i solved it by force quitting and holding F2 when i restarted. now i'm trying to get rid of the bootcamp partition.

Which version of XP, and with which service pack? The requirement is that it must be XP Home or Pro, SP2 or newer. Any other version of XP will either not work, or give you problems.

thanks. to be honest i havent a clue. its on a copied cd. not even sure it was sp2. i just want to get rid of the partition now is all. and bootcamp wont give me that option.

Open Disk Utility and use it to delete the Windows partition. You should be able to drag the line the separates the Mac partition and the Windows one down so that it deletes it and adds it back to the Mac one.

i've tried disk utility. i had two hard drives, one i use for running logic to record music, the other i partitioned. now in disk utility it shows three seperate hard drives, the third called bootcamp. and i dont see any options such as u suggested. would it have anything to do with the fact that i took osx off the partitioned drive? Thanks
