Hard Drive Problem
So, for a while now, my mac has been randomly stopping all activity, giving me a beach ball. THe screen then freezes, and the hard drive makes an obvious skipping noise.

You hard drive is dieing. Backup your info fast and get the hard drive replaced. That noise that the drive is making is called the click of death.
