Opening wmv files in external media player
Hello,
I just recently got a mac and i am very happy with it yet am still quite new to it as well. I just wanted to know how to open wmv files in an external video player. I have VLC media player, however when I click on a wmv video link i have to wait until it downloads the complete media file and only then can i view it. Is it possible to stream wmv files in an external media player before the whole file has downloaded similar to the "downloadwith" or "mediaplayer connectivity" plugins that are compatible with windows? I have no problems opening up movie trailers in quicktime as this player opens up automatically when i click on the link. Thanks to anyone that can help, i greatly appreciate it!!

Go here and download Flip4Mac Player. It comes with a plugin for QuickTime that will play the files, and it will now steam Windows Media files.

Hello i had already downloaded flip4mac player previously and quicktime wasnt opening up...i just re-installed it and its working now. thanks for ur help!!
