Trying to get some use out of an iMac G3
Awhile ago my sister bought an old iMac G3 off eBay. We picked up the last generation using the bubble design and the guy we bought it from upgraded the ram and hd to max capacity. It came with the newest version of Mac OSX which it could barely run. So I got rid of it and installed Ubuntu, which as it turns out has no Flash Player rendering it completely useless. Not yet defeated I decided to try Mac OS 9 in the hopes that it will run better than X and that's where we're at now.
At the suggestion of a post I found elsewhere I killed the linux partition in the hopes of getting my Mac OS 9 cd to boot, no luck. After holding down C for a good 5 mins during boot the machine defaults back to yaboot and then either freezes or tries to continue booting to the Ubuntu partition that doesn't exist. I need a way, any way, to make this system a usable low profile computer with Adobe Flash 10. |
