Re: black screen of death!

Please be more descriptive with your problems (what happened right before this, etc). If the screen is black with a bunch of text, then I'd guess it could be a kernel panic. However, that is still only a guess. If there is a bunch of text, the last 10 or so lines on the screen would help.

It would help to know what operating system you're running too.

Re: black screen of death!

What where you doing when it went black? What Mac is it? What version of Mac OS are you running? Does the computer come back up if you let it sit or restart?

Re: black screen of death!

When my screen is black, I just plug it into a power source and press the power button. It has never failed to fix the problem.

If you've tried this- you'll need to be more descriptive of what happened before this, were you just working and the screen went off?
Does the computer seem to turn on?

And is this a MacBook or iMac? I assume it isn't a Mac Pro or Mac Mini...
