small problem with Itunes 8

ok so I 've got a small problem with I tunes 8. When I go to add my whole music folder to Itunes it only adds about 6 artists out of 100+ atrists (75 gigs of music) I have in my music folder

I am using Vista home Premium 64 bit

latest Itunes 8.003 or something like that

My goals -
is to kick Steve Jobs in the nuts - unattainable not worth the trouble

so I figure I'll settle for second best which is to allow me to either auto add music to Itunes or be able to add all my music to Itunes at once

Okay, 1st question to aak is how are you adding the songs? 2nd is what format are the song files? iTunes will only take files it can play. It should also be able to convert .wma files that are unprotected, but it may take it a while.

all songs are in MP3 format I've converted everything to MP3 using DBpower amp converter (I have no DRM music its all unprotected MP3's)

I try adding the music by going
File
add Folder
then just my music folder as a whole

I can add music but its by 1 artist at a time (annoying)

the main thing I don't want is Itunes making a duplicate of the music for its own folder.

I only use Itunes to sync my Ipod

I prefer Media Player 11

Sounds like there is a limit to how much you can add at once, and artist by artist maybe keeping the chunks below that limit. Weither that limit is due by iTunes or Vista, I can't say, as I use the Mac OS and have not run into this problem. I have done large chunks, and it does take iTunes a while.

well it worked in Itunes7?

I wouldn't mind using Itunes7 as I don't see a difference between 7 and 8

well I did find Itunes 7.7.1- so I'll see if works with an older version
