Sending music around the house

Righty.

I know that itunes has the ability to send music to networked remote speakers using specific hardware, AirTunes I think, or something like that.

However, being the typical geeky fellow that I am, I almost have a computer in each room of the house now, a few Macs, a few PCs - all networked.

My question is basically, is there any way to use iTunes to send music to another copy of iTunes live?

I know I can probably get some hacked-together way of doing it, probably by setting all the computers up to listen to a central stream - but I'd really rather do something "off-the-shelf" instead...

Can iTunes do this? Or should I be looking in some totally different direction?

It is simple really. Make sure iTunes is installed on every computer, and then set each one that has music that you want 'streamed' is set to share libraryand the recieving set to look for shared music. Now you can play music from any computer on the network.

Additionally, I've been trying out a piece of software called Airfoil that does the job fantastically also!
