can you reformat an bondi imac?!

hey guys!

i'm making some room in my house and thought i would try to pawn off a couple of things onto craigslist. i'm looking to sell this bondi imac that i got years back. but i don't want anyone to see my information on it. is there a way to reformat the computer??

how do i check specs on it? i haven't used it in years, i'm afraid my once ninja-like mac skills are basically nonexistent.

Boot it up, and once at the desktop, goto the Apple menu and click system profiler if it is running OS 9, or about this Mac, and then click the more info button in OS X, to get the detailed specs. As for formatting the drive, boot it from the CDs that came with it and then you should be able to find the disk utility to reformat the drive with. Tell it to write zeros to the drive, and that should be fine. If you are really worried about someone getting hte info, just remove the drive all together.
