Downloading Garageband

I bought a Mac off Craigslist. The previous owner deleted Garageband and told me I could download it....which I did, but I can't get it up and running. It's showing in my applications as a dmg file, alias file, pkg file and a plain ol' garageband 4.1.2

Any advice?

WOW...... I just solved my own dilemma ! Not sure how I did it, but using the website I was able to download garageband!

Got hung up as i'd never downloaded anything like this before (BTW it took almost 3 days to download) and I got hung up on admin passwords, which somehow I got through and voila!

Garageband!
