Macs get viruses?

Hi there,

I have a Mac laptop and I was wondering if it's possible for Macs to get PC viruses?

See, I wanted to download Limewire onto my laptop - but I'm afraid of getting a virus, or spyware, or making my computer slow.

I was wondering if Macs would be protected against most of that - somewhere I heard that they were.

Anyway - I was just wondering what yer guys' opinion was on the matter.

They say that there is some out there now, but if you stay away from shady sites, like the ones that you'd goto with a torrent app, you'll have nothing to fear. I don't use torrents, so I'll never have to worry. If a virus is written for Windows, it will not run on a Mac, but that doesn't mean that they can't pass it on to another Windows PC. As for making it slow, torrents are good at that on every platform. Just remember that if you have any problems with torrents, we will not help you here, as per the forum rules.
