OS: Mac OS Leopard 10.5

webcam drivers

I am using my new iMac with OS X 10.5 Leopard. I would like to use my Logitech Orbit AF webcam with the iMac. Of course iSight is built right into the computer with its own webcam, but I am wondering if drivers are available to use the Logitech Orbit instead. It seems to me that the Orbit is only supported in a Windows environment. If drivers are available for this cam for use on iMac, if someone knows where to find them, I would appreciate hearing from you. There are not a lot of control options for the built-in iSight webcam on the Mac and I believe my Logitech Orbit AF is a much superior cam.

Re: webcam drivers

Logitech does not support OS X with this camera. But it may work with the standard USB camera drivers that are part of OS X. But even though those drivers are there, iChat is picky about which cameras it will use, regardless if there are OS X drivers. To use this camera, there will be two things you need to look into, drivers, and an enabler. But even with these, you are not going to get all the same spiffs you do under Windows. When used with iChat, iChat will still only allow the same things you can do with the built-in iSight.
