I just bought a new Macbook (superdrive) and I had garageband and iphoto going for the first week, then one day i exited and went to go back on it later that day and they were both gone. i went under applications and everywhere but I can't find them. any suggestions? I dont want to have to buy any new stuff. Thank you.

Re: Disappearing applications! help please
What happens when you search for them? Also, have you saved any Garageband files? If so, double click on them and if the app is still on the hard drive, it will open. And once you have the icon in the Dock, you can control click on the icon and pick Show in Finder to see where it is now.

Re: Disappearing applications! help please
No I never saved anything from garageband, all I ever did was check it out and look at it, never actually making anything. ive looked everywhere again, and still nothing. Do you think if I reloaded the Mac OS X disk again that I might get them back?

Re: Disappearing applications! help please
No, because they are not part of the OS. If there is a restore disk, that might have them. But being this is a new Mac, I'd take it back to an Apple store and ask them where the apps went, as they come free on a new Mac. iWork will be a 30 day trail, but the iLife apps come as part of the new Mac purchase.
Another thing to try is to click on the magnifying glass in the upper right hand and type in iphoto to see if it finds it.
