Programs running a little sluggish in Tiger??
I upgraded to Tiger version 10.4.11, ran Disk Warrior prior to the upgrade and then installed Quark 7.0. Quark now runs slow as compared to my previous 6.0 version on system 10.3.9. I run on a PowerMac G4 with 1.25 G Ram and about 26 G of avail memory. CPU Speed is 1.25GHz. I have two 512 MB and a 256 MB memory stick in with an available slot left open...Should I max out my Ram? Would that help the programs to run smoother/quicker at all? Should I run DW again after the upgrade to Tiger? Would that make a difference since I already ran it? Why is the computer somewhat sluggish now (especially Quark 7.0 and PhotoShop a little too).
Thanks! |

Re: Programs running a little sluggish in Tiger??
Not sure why you ran DW. Not sure how that would effect things. But you are going from OS X 10.3 to 10.4 and Quark 6 to 7 at the same time? Like that, yes it will seem slower. Maxing the RAM will help speed things up. The main thing is that you still have a G4 at 1.25Ghz, which is pretty much old and slow today. And as programs update, they will seem to run slower.
