iMovie 6.0 help regarding size/ratios - Is there hope!?

I am importing various clips into my composition and not all all the same aspect ratio. Some are 480x360 and some are 480x260. So the ones that are 260 it puts a black area above and below the video. When I increased the size to 640x360 it still brings it in with a compressed aspect ratio. Is there a way to just crop the left and right of the 640x360 video so it fits the screen like the other 480x360's? There must be a way to work with different sized video clips and have it all look good. Is there any way?

That is something that you will most likely need Quicktime Pro for, and then import the edited clip into iMovie. The only other thing that you may try is adjusting the clip with the Letterbox effect.
