Virtual PC 7.0 help

I just downloaded virtual pc 7.0 for my mac but I am not entirely sure how to open it. I downloaded it and it downloaded as a .exe file. I am not sure how to open that up. All help would be appreciated. I am at a real loss here.

Re: Virtual PC 7.0 help

First off, you can not download Virtual PC 7, it can only be bought in a store on CD. Second .exe files are Windows executable files, and only run under Windows, which means it's VPC for Windows, not Mac.

Re: Virtual PC 7.0 help

I downloaded it from my schools website. They offer it as a download because they bought it and have rights to allow such things. It is like buying from the schools online store. If I downloaded it on my windows computer and burned it to a cd, would I be able to run it that way?

Re: Virtual PC 7.0 help

No, if it is an .exe, it will only work on Windows. You will most likely need to make a call or send an email asking about the location of the Mac version. It will most likely be in a disk image, a kind of .zip file for Macs, that ends with .dmg. You would download that, then double click on it and it would put a disk icon on your desktop that you open and then the installer will be in that. Remember, VPC 7 is only for PowerPC based Macs (G3, G4, and G5), and is not supported on 10.5.
