FireWire support under Boot Camp
Platform in question: MacBook Pro 2.66 with OS Leopard. I am contemplating the purchase of Adobe CS3 suite which includes what used to be Serious Magics's DV toolbox. (Includes all of the scopes and confidence monitoring in a software emulation) My question: Has anyone used the IEEE1394 ports under Boot Camp or the other 2 programs that host Windows, to interface to a Digital Camcorder, or audio interface. (I have read that there are varying degrees of success being able to mount Ext. Hard drives, but I think this is a much more complicated interfacing task.
Thank You |

Re: FireWire support under Boot Camp
Well, under Bootcamp, you Mac should act just like any other PC. Use Bootcamp to create the partition and start the install of Windows. As soon as it's done, and you are booted to the Windows desktop, stick you OS X install DVD in the drive and run the hardware drivers installer, and then Windows should use all the ports just fine. Problems people have with drives and things are mainly with virtual PCs, like in Parallels or VMware.
