strange issues dealing with internet connectivity
hi, i moved into a new apartment this past weekend and have been having strange problems with my internet. i am hard wired to high-speed (15 mbps) internet here yet am having trouble viewing web pages. i am able to download media via bittorrent and other p2p networks (albeit download rates are below 15 kbps), yet when i open a browser i can rarely connect to anything. its as if i wasn't plugged into the wall. however, when i view the internet through vpn (hotspot shield) i have better luck. i believe this problem is specific to my computer as other apartments are not experiencing these issues and when i connect in another apartment, the issues persist. is there something wrong with me on my network? should i talk to a network administrator? why am i able to recieve data through p2p sharing yet not through a browser? and lastly, is this problem due to something on my computer?
any help is appreciated. thanks scott |

Re: strange issues dealing with internet connectivity
Talk to the network admin. It sounds like you may need to add the DNS servers to your network config settings.
