certain applications will not open up on my mac... my software update will not open,my itunes update will not open..etc.

Re: applications will not open up
Reboot your Mac, then goto the Utilities folder in the Applications folder and open Disk Utility. Click on your disk icon in the left column and then First Aid tab in the right column. Then hit the Repair Permissions button. If it makes any repairs, click the button again. Do so until it no longer makes any repairs. Reboot and try the programs again.
