ESATA card stopped working
I have an esata raid array with a Silicon Images 3124 controller card in my Mac (OS 10.5.3-quad core intel 3ghz.) After a month or two of working fine, the drive wouldn't mount today. We tried installing new drivers, putting the card into a different PCIe slot, etc. Now, when the card is installed, the system profiler returns an error saying it cannot gather the info on the installed PCI cards.
The card and drive works on an identical machine, but not on this one. I'm stumped. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Eric |

Re: ESATA card stopped working
There is either something wrong with the OS, or the motherboard is bad. At this point, the only way to know for sure is to reinstall the OS, or take the hard drive from the one that does work and put it into this problem one ans see if that changes anything. If not, then I'd say the Mac needs to be replaced.
