Messed up stacks - Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi,

The stacks on my dock get really messed up all the time. Does this happen to anyone else? Does anyone know why it happens?

I can only make them go back to normal by doing a killall Dock in the Terminal.

The first two images I attached is what the stacks are supposed to look like. The rest are all what they look like when they are messed up.

Thanks

It hasn't been on too long now, and it isn't warm. But that doesn't really matter because it happens all the time. It has happened just about every time I've used the computer since I installed Leopard and, of course, it has been shut down and turned on many many times since then.

Maybe I should try reinstalling the Dock with my installation discs?

Well, the dock is part of the OS, you can't just reinstall that part, you should try to reinstall the whole OS. If that doesn't work, you may need to contact Apple about it. Normally when you start seeing things like that, it means that the GPU or video RAM is over heating, or going bad. But normally when that happens, it'll effect a lot more than just one thing like stacks.

Ok, I will bring it into the Apple Store and see what they have to say.

I'm surprised you can't reinstall the Dock because it looks like its own application in the System/Core Services directory. But I guess if it is in that directory... its a part of the operating system... I guess... Silly me.
