Explorer glitches & incomplete "wake ups"

Well, I get no response over at the internet forum, so I'll post here too....thus:

1) When I put my G3 Lombard to sleep, I leave both Netscape (my email) & Explorer up. Frequently though, when I wake 'er up to resume work and I try & open a new Explorer page, I get "No such Devise or Address" -- I then have to shut down Explorer & open it up again...This does not seem right to me...Netscape doesn't do this...WHY?

2) It takes about 40 seconds for Explorer to open to page, much longer than Netscape which takes all of 4 secs....WHY? (I have a large "bookmark" file, could this be it?)

3) I was an avid Netscape user for browsing for years, then discovered that Explorer was faster...in facy, Netscape will occasionally come to halt, while Explorer keeps on trucking....WHY?

4) Recent problem: sometimes I find my mac has turned itself off, when I have put it to sleep, and/or she wakes up internally, but the monitor stays dark...?!

Thanks ahead of time for feedback...!

PJ
