Boot Camp question...
Do you need your own copy of XP or Vista for Boot Camp on a Mac?
This is probably a pretty obvious question, but just curious, never used it before. |

Re: Boot Camp question...
It also has to be a copy that isn't installed on any other computer. It would be just like you finished building a new computer and are ready to install Windows on it. It has to be either a never used copy of Windows, or a retail copy that is not installed on (or been uninstalled from) another computer. Also, boot camp only supports 32-bit versions of Windows XP Home and Pro (both with service pack 2), and 32-Bit versions of Vista Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, and Ultimate. And the whole Windows installer must be on one disk, no multi-disk installs.

Re: Boot Camp question...
The only way to run Windows programs on Mac without Windows is to use Crossover. It works with some apps, but many aren't supported.
I'd go with Parallels/Boot Camp. but if can't stand Windows and ready to sacrifice some functionality for the sake of Mac-purity, Crossover is for you
