Seemingly Random Loss of Wireless Signal

My g4 ppc, running osx 10.4, has been encountering what seems to be random losses of the wireless signal. Sometimes its there and sometimes its not, and I don't think its the router: other computers can access the router wirelessly when mine can't. When the mac's own software won't detect the signal, KisMAC, the scrambler app, will find it, but list it at 0 signal strength, with occasional second-long blips of up to full strength signal. I've gone over all of the settings on the computer and the router, and I can't find anything that is missing or wrong. Considering that other computers are doing fine with it, I am not quite sure what to make of it. The computer works fine when hooked up via the ethernet port, by the way.

This problem is relatively new, and is bugging me to no end.

Wireless card? some kind of software/settings problem?

Would very much appreciate some help. Thanks

JDS

Re: Seemingly Random Loss of Wireless Signal

My iBook did just this same thing, and it turned out to be that the antenna wasn't fully plugged into the wireless card. So I'd open up the Mac and make sure that the card is fully seated, and that the antenna cable has completely clicked into place.

Re: Seemingly Random Loss of Wireless Signal

That solved it - seems like things are little loose. Thanks.
