Can't get Acrobat 7 to make cmyk seps
Merry Christmas to all.
I downloaded an update to my Acrobat 6 yesterday and it said it failed half way through and now the application won't start up. I attempted to use my copy of Acrobat 7 to create eps documents from pdf originals but I can't get the color photographs to separate when I print to film. (That's why I wasn't using it up to this point). I looked on the net and went under Tools to Print Production to Output Preview and changed the color to Acrobat 4 CMYK and it gives me the four previews boxes and I can preview the color splits but when I print I still get photo images only on the black neg. I've checked and the original photos are cmyk tiffs and do separate on another machine running Acrobat 6. Any ideas? Also, when I fire up 7, it says it has not finished installing an upgrade each time. I am telling it to not upgrade after my aforementioned 6 debacle. |

Re: Can't get Acrobat 7 to make cmyk seps
Further to this problem, I tried going under File to Save As, saving as an eps, then under Settings and Output trying to change the Composite setting to Separations but only the Composite and Composite Gray modes are available. The Separation setting is grayed out.

Re: Can't get Acrobat 7 to make cmyk seps
You should let it finish upgrading, or reinstall 6 and upgrade it again. Because it has not finished with the upgrade, the options you seek may not be installed or useable yet.

Re: Can't get Acrobat 7 to make cmyk seps
I did reinstall 6 and it is performing okay but I'd still like to know if anyone has any idea as to how to get 7 to print separations. There is probably something I don't have toggled correctly but I'm at a loss to figure it out.
