Tried to install OSX TIGER now lines?

A friend gave me an osx tiger disk and thought it was new never installed they got it with a macbook they bought, but I guess I didn't know it was only for the computer it was shipped with so I stupidly tried to install it on my mac osx 10.3.9 ibookg4 800mhz 256mb and anyways now when I boot it up there are vertical lines on a grey screen, and has a file with a ? mark. the laptop works and everything, I've only never had that problem until I tried that. Any idea what I can do?

well, the only think you can do is use the disks that came with your ibook and reinstall 10.3. other than that, you'll have to look to see if you can find any retail copies of 10.3 or 10.4 at local or online computer stores or ebay. you can't use 10.5 as it will not install on anything slower than 867mhz.
