Remote access on mac server 10.4
Hi all, I really know nothing about mac so bear with me a bit.
I recently got a job working for a small company where I was placed in the IT position. One of my duties is to integrated a newly purchased mac server into our system. So guys in the field can access the server and help with communication. Anyway, the server works great in our network. All the computers in the office/shop can tap into it. The problem is, we cannot access it when we are NOT on the LAN. So, anyone have any advice on how to allow the server to be accessed remotely? Ok, question number two. When we DO upload stuff to the server the file automatically gets set to read only to all users except the owner. We can go in and manually change the files to allow all other users to read/write. BUT, is there a way to change the settings to where a file is automatically set read/write instead of having to hook up to the server and go and manually change it? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks much in advanced! Sorry for the long essay lol. |

Re: Remote access on mac server 10.4
well, i have no experience with server additions of os x. but if this is a brand new server, you should be able to call apple and get answers. but for the remote login, the only thing i know of is apple's remote desktop. and i don't know about the settings of uploaded files.
