Re: Lost partitions in Lacie Porshe

what are you doing when they disappear? is it while using the disk, or after restarts? have you been using this disk with any other computers?

Re: Lost partitions in Lacie Porshe

I try to reboot when they disappear and they would sometimes come back. But one of them wasn't coming back at all and now I can't get any of them. I tried different things, turning the drive on/off, connecting and disconnecting. I have not been using it with any other computers, it connects via firewire. When transferring data it would disappear also. Thank you.

Re: Lost partitions in Lacie Porshe

Will the external disk show up on the disk utility or do you mean repair the internal drive? It's brand new, but I was having the same problem with my old disk too. thanks

Re: Lost partitions in Lacie Porshe

well, if you have replaced the disk in the lacie case and are still having the same issues, then i'd say the case is bad and you should get a new one. but yes, the external disk will show up in disk utility's list, and you should be able to select the hard drive (but don't do the partitions which will be listed under the disk) and click repair disk.
